The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid , continued its leading role in providing assistance to those in need around the world, as the center intensified its relief efforts during November 2025 through a package of urgent medical and food aid that targeted four countries: Yemen, Sudan, Afghanistan, and Chad.
cholera control efforts in Yemen
As part of the urgent health response, the Yemen Cholera Response Project provided medical services to 7,815 individuals during November 2025. These efforts are of paramount importance given the fragility of Yemen's health system and the fear of disease outbreaks. Services focused on conducting thorough and comprehensive screenings of arrivals and travelers at key points, including Aden and Al-Rayyan airports, as well as the Al-Hafiya and Razih border crossings in the governorates of Hadramawt (coastal and inland), Aden, Hajjah, and Sa'dah.
Field reports confirmed that no suspected or confirmed cases of cholera were recorded, a positive indicator reflecting the effectiveness of preventive measures. In addition to medical examinations, the center conducted 673 awareness and educational sessions, benefiting 13,860 individuals, with the aim of raising community health awareness to reduce the spread of infection. The project also includes supporting health facilities with intravenous and oral solutions, antibiotics, and sterilization materials, while expanding the bed capacity of isolation centers to accommodate any emergency.
Supporting food security in Sudan, Afghanistan and Chad
In terms of food security, and in response to escalating humanitarian crises, the center distributed vital food aid in three other countries:
- In Sudan, the center distributed 1,000 food baskets in the city of Jebit, Red Sea State, benefiting 1,000 displaced and vulnerable families. This aid comes at a critical time when Sudan is facing significant challenges in providing food due to the current circumstances, and is part of the 2025 Food Security Support Plan.
- In Afghanistan, aid included the distribution of 750 food baskets in Baghlan province, targeting 750 families who had returned to their homes. The Food Security and Emergency Support Project (2025-2026) aims to help returning families settle down and overcome hardship.
- In Chad: The center provided 900 food baskets in the Lake region, benefiting 5,300 displaced people affected by the security crisis in the Lake Chad Basin region, as part of the in-kind assistance project for the year (2025-2026).
