The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continues its global efforts by providing food and medical assistance in Uzbekistan, Jordan, Syria, Indonesia, and Yemen, reaffirming its leading humanitarian role.

Ongoing humanitarian efforts reflect the Kingdom's leading role

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continues to solidify its role as a leading humanitarian arm of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the international stage through a series of impactful projects recently targeting five countries in Asia and the Middle East. These aid efforts have ranged from food assistance and specialized volunteer medical campaigns to seasonal aid, addressing the urgent needs of the most vulnerable populations in Uzbekistan, Jordan, Syria, Indonesia, and Yemen.

These initiatives are part of a strategic framework reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to alleviating human suffering worldwide, in accordance with the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and his Crown Prince. Since its establishment in 2015, the center has implemented thousands of projects in dozens of countries, setting a unique example of humanitarian work based on transparency, impartiality, and non-discrimination.

Supporting food security in Uzbekistan

In Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center launched the fifth phase of its “Food Basket” project. This vital project aims to distribute 6,060 complete food baskets containing essential items needed by families. It is expected that approximately 36,000 individuals across 14 different provinces will benefit from this distribution, directly contributing to enhancing food security for vulnerable families in the Republic of Uzbekistan and supporting their stability in the face of economic challenges.

Quality medical initiatives in Jordan, Syria and Indonesia

The center's efforts extended to the health sector through specialized volunteer programs that left a tangible impact:

  • In Jordan: The “Noor Saudi Arabia Volunteer Project” to combat blindness was implemented in the capital, Amman. During the campaign, the medical team successfully examined 2,371 cases, distributed 400 pairs of eyeglasses, and performed 394 delicate eye surgeries, all of which were successful, restoring sight and hope to the beneficiaries.
  • In Syria: The center concluded a volunteer orthopedic surgery project in Damascus with the participation of 16 volunteers. During the project, the team performed 45 complex hip and knee replacement surgeries, in addition to 31 specialized surgeries to treat hand deformities, helping patients regain mobility and improve their quality of life amidst the difficult conditions facing the health sector there.
  • In Indonesia: The center launched a volunteer open-heart surgery project in Jakarta, with the participation of 20 specialists. The team has performed six successful open-heart surgeries since the start of the campaign, offering a new lease on life to patients who desperately needed these complex surgical interventions.

Winter aid for displaced people in Yemen

To combat the severe cold wave in Yemen, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center distributed 270 shopping vouchers as part of its "Kanaf" winter clothing distribution project. These vouchers enabled 270 individuals from displaced families in Al-Sum district of Hadramawt Governorate to purchase winter clothing to protect them from the harsh weather. This project reflects the Center's commitment to providing assistance that meets urgent seasonal needs, especially given the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, which makes displaced people in camps the most vulnerable group.
