As part of its ongoing efforts to support the Yemeni health sector, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center announced that it provided medical services to 1,783 beneficiaries during the last week of November, within the framework of its emergency response project to combat the cholera epidemic. This initiative is part of a series of humanitarian interventions aimed at curbing the spread of infectious diseases in a country suffering from one of the world's worst humanitarian crises.

Since 2016, Yemen has experienced one of the largest cholera outbreaks in modern history, with the World Health Organization recording millions of suspected cases and thousands of deaths, placing immense pressure on an already strained health system.

The project's recent efforts included comprehensive and thorough screening at Yemen's main entry points, including Aden and Al-Rayyan airports and the Al-Hafiya and Razih land border crossings in the governorates of Hadramawt, Aden, Hajjah, and Sa'dah. These preventative measures aim to detect any cases early and prevent their entry and spread to new areas. The report confirmed that no suspected or confirmed cases were recorded during the monitoring period, reflecting the effectiveness of the implemented procedures. In addition to screening, significant emphasis was placed on awareness-raising, with 292 health education sessions conducted, benefiting 6,223 individuals, to promote personal hygiene practices and methods of disease prevention.
