As part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center distributed 584 winter clothing vouchers to the most vulnerable families in several Syrian governorates. The distribution targeted vital areas facing dire humanitarian conditions, including Khirbet al-Jouz in Idlib Governorate, Busra al-Sham and al-Musayfirah in Daraa Governorate, and Salma in Latakia Governorate, directly benefiting 584 individuals.
A critical humanitarian situation in the face of winter
This aid comes at a critical time, as millions of Syrians, particularly those internally displaced in camps and informal settlements, face harsh living conditions with the onset of winter. After more than a decade of crisis since 2011, the population suffers from severe shortages of basic resources, and heating and winter clothing have become unattainable luxuries for many. Low temperatures, heavy rain, and snow exacerbate the suffering of children, women, and the elderly, increasing their risk of contracting serious seasonal cold-related illnesses.
The importance of aid and its direct impact
The “Kanaf” winter clothing distribution project aims to provide warmth and protection to vulnerable groups. The impact of this initiative extends beyond the material to include psychological and emotional support. The vouchers give beneficiaries the freedom to choose clothing that suits them, preserving their dignity and empowering them. This assistance effectively alleviates the financial burden on families struggling to make ends meet in a collapsing economy.
