The King Salman Relief Center distributed urgent shelter assistance in Saada, as part of its ongoing efforts to support the Yemeni people and alleviate their humanitarian suffering in light of the current crisis.

As part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center distributed various shelter assistance items in the Razih district of Saada Governorate in Yemen. The aid included 150 tents and 80 shelter kits. This distribution benefited 1,350 individuals from the most vulnerable and displaced families, as part of the Emergency Shelter Project in Yemen.

This aid comes amid the complex humanitarian crisis that Yemen has been experiencing for years, which the United Nations has described as one of the world's worst. The ongoing conflict has displaced millions from their homes, leaving behind their possessions and livelihoods, and leaving them facing dire living conditions. Saada Governorate, located in northern Yemen, is among the areas most affected by the conflict, exacerbating the basic humanitarian needs of its residents, particularly safe shelter.

Providing shelter is one of the most urgent humanitarian interventions. Tents and shelter kits offer essential protection for displaced families from harsh weather conditions, providing them with a measure of privacy and dignity. Shelter kits typically contain essential items such as blankets, mattresses, and basic cooking utensils, helping families meet their basic daily needs and rebuild a semblance of normalcy amidst the difficult circumstances of displacement.

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, established in 2015, is the humanitarian arm of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and plays a pivotal role in providing assistance to various affected countries around the world, with a significant focus on Yemen. The Center's efforts in Yemen extend beyond the shelter sector to encompass other vital sectors such as food security, health, water and sanitation, education, and livelihoods support, aiming to provide a comprehensive and sustainable response to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

These initiatives have a direct impact on the lives of beneficiaries, contributing to their temporary stability and improving their living conditions. Regionally and internationally, these efforts highlight the Kingdom's humanitarian role in responding to crises, underscore the importance of international solidarity in addressing humanitarian challenges in Yemen, and emphasize the ongoing need for increased support to ensure aid reaches all those in need throughout the country.
