As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing humanitarian efforts to support the Palestinian people, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center distributing urgent relief aid in the Gaza Strip. Yesterday, in the Al-Qarara area in the southern Gaza Strip, comprehensive food baskets were distributed to thousands of displaced people suffering from harsh living conditions due to the ongoing aggression.
This aid comes as part of the Saudi popular campaign to provide relief to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. Field teams from the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage – the implementing partner of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center in the Strip – oversaw the distribution process. The operation was carried out according to a precise and organized mechanism to ensure that the aid reached those who needed it most, with a particular focus on the most vulnerable and affected groups, including women, children, the elderly, and the sick.
The importance of aid in light of the humanitarian crisis
This aid is of paramount strategic and humanitarian importance, especially given international reports warning of worsening food insecurity in the Gaza Strip. The urgent Saudi intervention will help bridge the food gap and provide basic necessities for families who have lost their homes and livelihoods. The beneficiary families expressed their deep gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership and people, emphasizing that these food baskets arrived at a critical time, alleviating their daily suffering and embodying the bonds of Arab and Islamic brotherhood and solidarity.

Saudi support was not limited to on-the-ground distribution, but included a comprehensive relief supply system. Official statistics from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center indicate the operation of a massive air and sea bridge to deliver aid to Gaza, which included:
- 78 relief planes have arrived so far.
- Operating 8 giant ships .
- More than 7,706 tons of food, medical and shelter supplies were transported.
- 914 Saudi relief entered
- 20 fully equipped ambulances delivered to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.
International partnerships and airdrop operations
In overcoming logistical challenges and border closures, the Kingdom pursued multiple avenues to ensure aid delivery, including conducting targeted airdrops of food supplies in partnership with the Jordanian Armed Forces. The Center also signed strategic agreements with UN and international organizations to implement relief projects within the Gaza Strip, valued at over $90.35 million , reflecting the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause both humanely and politically in various forums.
This intensive humanitarian movement comes as a confirmation of the historical position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which has spared no effort through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Relief Center, in standing by the Palestinian people during various crises and hardships, in an effort to alleviate the effects of the humanitarian disaster that the sector is going through.
