The King Salman Relief Center continues its humanitarian efforts by distributing thousands of food baskets in Lebanon, Sudan, Chad and Afghanistan to support food security for the most vulnerable groups.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center , continued its pioneering journey in global charitable work, as the center implemented a series of simultaneous relief operations in four Arab and Islamic countries, aiming to enhance food security and alleviate the suffering of the most needy groups and refugees.

Supporting refugees and the host community in Lebanon

As part of its urgent humanitarian response in Lebanon, the center distributed extensive food aid in the Bekaa Governorate. The aid included 1,599 food baskets and 1,599 cartons of dates. This assistance targeted Syrian and Palestinian refugees, as well as vulnerable families within the host community, benefiting approximately 7,995 individuals. This initiative is part of ongoing projects to support food security in Lebanon, particularly given the challenging economic conditions in the region.

Urgent relief in Chad and Afghanistan

Saudi Arabia's humanitarian efforts have extended to the African continent, specifically to the Republic of Chad, where the center distributed 900 food baskets in the city of Mchimeri, in the Bahr el Ghazal region. This aid benefited 5,400 individuals from the most vulnerable groups, as part of the in-kind assistance plan allocated for 2025.

In the same vein, the center continued its activities in Central Asia, where 404 food baskets were distributed in Farkhar District, Takhar Province, Afghanistan. This aid was allocated to returning families, internally displaced persons, and orphans, benefiting 2,424 individuals, as part of a comprehensive project to support food security and emergency situations scheduled for 2026.

Alleviating suffering in Sudan

In light of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Sudan, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center intensified its efforts in North Kordofan State, specifically in the Sheikan locality. There, 2,300 food baskets were distributed, benefiting 2,300 families, as part of the third phase of the 2025 Sudan Food Security Support Project. This aid aims to address the food gap resulting from displacement and the exceptional circumstances faced by the Sudanese people.

The Kingdom's leading role in humanitarian work

These on-the-ground initiatives underscore the pivotal role Saudi Arabia plays in the international humanitarian arena. Since its establishment in 2015, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre has successfully implemented thousands of projects in dozens of countries worldwide, focusing on vital sectors such as food, health, and shelter. These efforts reflect the Kingdom's commitment to Vision 2030, which reinforces its position as a leading force in the Islamic world and a key contributor to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly the eradication of hunger and poverty.
