The King Salman Relief Center continues to provide humanitarian aid in Yemen, through mobile clinics in Hajjah and the distribution of food baskets in Hadramawt, to alleviate the suffering of displaced families.

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) continues its pivotal role in providing support to the brotherly Yemeni people, through the implementation of a package of medical and food projects in various governorates, with the aim of alleviating the severity of the humanitarian crisis, which is one of the most difficult crises in the world.

The general context of the humanitarian crisis in Yemen

Since the outbreak of the conflict in Yemen, the country has witnessed a significant deterioration in all vital sectors, most notably the health and food sectors. The conflict has led to the internal displacement of millions of people, the destruction of infrastructure, and the spread of epidemics and malnutrition. In this context, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre was established in May 2015 as the humanitarian arm of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, directing a large part of its operations towards responding to urgent needs in Yemen. It works in coordination with the United Nations and international and local organizations to ensure that aid reaches those who need it most.

Integrated medical services in displaced persons camps

As part of its ongoing efforts, the mobile medical clinic of the center in the Al-Walan camp for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Haradh District, Hajjah Governorate, continued to provide its medical services. From January 7 to 13, the clinic received 82 beneficiaries, providing care across various departments. The infectious disease control clinic treated 33 patients, the emergency clinic saw 22 patients, and the internal medicine clinic treated 15 beneficiaries. Additionally, three women received care at the reproductive health clinic. These mobile clinics are a lifeline for displaced communities with limited access to fixed health facilities, contributing to disease control and the provision of urgent care.

Supporting food security for the most vulnerable families

In terms of food assistance, the center distributed 500 cartons of dates in the Haridah district of Hadramawt Governorate, benefiting 3,000 individuals from the poorest families and people with disabilities. This distribution is part of the center's annual Dates Aid Project in Yemen, given the high nutritional value of dates and their ability to provide quick energy and essential nutrients, which is particularly important in the context of combating malnutrition. These initiatives underscore the center's comprehensive approach, which combines health and nutrition interventions to achieve a sustainable impact.

Human importance and impact

This aid is of paramount importance at the local level, directly contributing to saving lives and improving the living conditions of thousands of Yemenis. Regionally and internationally, these efforts highlight the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's leading role in humanitarian work and underscore its commitment to the principles of international humanitarian law. The continuity of these projects reflects a long-term strategy aimed not only at providing immediate relief but also at supporting the resilience of local communities and strengthening their ability to cope with formidable challenges.
