Warmth and safety for displaced families in Aleppo
As part of its ongoing field efforts, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center distributed urgent shelter assistance to displaced families in Aleppo Governorate, Syria. This assistance included 360 blankets and 180 complete shelter kits , benefiting 180 families living in exceptionally difficult circumstances.
This aid comes at a critical time, as displaced families in northern Syria are suffering from harsh weather conditions, particularly with the drop in temperatures and the urgent need for heating supplies in temporary shelters and displacement camps. This Saudi humanitarian intervention aims to provide a minimum level of warmth and protection for these families, enhancing their resilience in the face of the harsh displacement environment and alleviating the accumulated burdens they have endured as a result of the years-long crisis.
Supporting food security in Afghanistan
In a related development, the center expanded its humanitarian operations to include East Asia, distributing 570 food baskets in Sheberghan, the capital of Jawzjan province in Afghanistan. This aid benefited 3,420 individuals from 570 families, including the most vulnerable groups such as returnees, internally displaced persons, orphans, and families in need.
This distribution falls under the Food Security and Emergency Support Project in Afghanistan, a vital project aimed at bridging the food gap faced by a large segment of the Afghan people due to economic challenges and difficult living conditions. These food baskets provide for the basic needs of families, contributing to combating malnutrition and achieving a degree of livelihood stability for beneficiaries.
