As part of the leading role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in global humanitarian work, the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid continued its intensive field efforts to provide urgent relief assistance in three Asian and Arab countries, targeting the most needy and affected groups from economic crises and natural disasters.
Winter support in Lebanon: the "Kanaf" project
In the Lebanese Republic, as part of the response to the difficult economic and living challenges, the center distributed yesterday 848 shopping vouchers as part of the fourth phase of the winter clothing distribution project (Kanaf-4) for the year 2026. These vouchers allow beneficiaries to purchase winter clothing of their choice from approved stores in the areas of Sidon, Tripoli, Zahle, and Beirut.
This initiative benefited 848 orphans and people with disabilities, including Syrian and Palestinian refugees, as well as families from the host community. This aid comes at a crucial time, coinciding with the onset of cold weather, easing the burden on families struggling with harsh living conditions.
Enhancing food security in Afghanistan
In Asia, specifically in Afghanistan, the center continued implementing its 2026 Food Security and Emergency Project. In Pashtun Kot district of Faryab province, 226 complete food baskets were distributed, benefiting 226 families (1,356 individuals). The aid targeted Afghan returnees, internally displaced persons, orphans, and those in need, aiming to address food insecurity in resource-scarce areas.
Facing the winter cold in Pakistan
In the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the center intensified its efforts to confront the severe cold wave and the repercussions of previous floods, as it distributed yesterday 2,500 winter bags as part of the (Kanaf) project for 2026. The distributions covered the areas of Larkana and Dadu in Sindh province, Muzaffargarh district in Punjab province, and Upper Dir district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
16,950 affected individuals benefited from this aid, reflecting the Kingdom’s keenness to stand by the brotherly Pakistani people in various difficult climatic conditions.
