King Abdulaziz Camel Festival: A cultural heritage and a deep historical legacy

The King Abdulaziz Camel Festival is the world's largest event dedicated to camels, held in Al-Sayahid Al-Janoubiya, northeast of Riyadh. The festival's significance stems from Saudi Arabia's commitment to preserving its cultural heritage and strengthening national identity, as camels are an integral part of the Arabian Peninsula's history and culture. Over its successive editions, the festival has transformed into a major tourist, cultural, and economic destination, attracting enthusiasts and participants from across the Gulf region and around the globe.

The importance of the stallion's breeding cycle

The "Producing Stallion" category holds particular importance for camel owners and investors in the sector, as it is considered the true benchmark for measuring the quality of production and breeds. Competition in this category is not based solely on individual beauty, but rather focuses on the stallion's genetic ability to produce rare and distinguished breeds that possess standard beauty characteristics. This category directly contributes to increasing the market value of camels and improving breeds, which positively impacts the local economy linked to the camel sector.

Continuation of competitions and events

The festival continues tomorrow, Friday, with audiences eagerly awaiting the announcement of the results for the "Produced Stallion" category in the "Al-Wadh" and "Al-Shaqah" breeds, as well as the preliminary round for the Al-Wadh and Al-Sha'al breeds. Meanwhile, the "Rimat" gate closed today, Thursday, for entries to the herds participating in the Crown Prince's round for the "Al-Wadh" breed, signaling fierce competition in the coming days and reflecting the extensive preparations undertaken by participants to win the festival's most prestigious prizes.
