The “Karam” Ramadan course for memorizing the Holy Quran was launched in Rafha with the participation of 2,065 male and female students, as part of efforts to promote religious values and serve the Book of God in the region.

In a spiritual atmosphere coinciding with the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, the Karam Association for Quran Memorization in Rafha Governorate announced the enrollment of 2,065 male and female students in its intensive Ramadan program. The program, which began in 19 mosques and prayer halls across the governorate and its affiliated centers, is part of the association's seasonal initiatives aimed at utilizing the time of this blessed month to serve the Holy Quran and deepen the community's connection to it.

Course objectives and learning pathways

The “Karam” course aims to empower students of all ages to review their memorization of the Holy Quran and correct their recitation under the supervision of specialized male and female teachers. To maximize its benefit, the association has designed a flexible educational program consisting of eight diverse tracks . These tracks include reviewing specific sections (one, three, five, ten, fifteen, twenty, and twenty-five parts), in addition to a track dedicated to reviewing the entire Holy Quran. This variety allows participants to choose the track that best suits their memorization level, effectively enhancing their mastery and improving the quality of their recitation.

Historical context of Quranic education in the Kingdom

This initiative is not an isolated event, but rather an extension of longstanding efforts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to care for the Holy Quran through teaching, memorization, and reflection. The Kingdom's government, represented by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, places great importance on supporting charitable Quran memorization societies throughout the country. These societies are a cornerstone of the educational and religious structure of society, graduating thousands of memorizers annually who contribute to leading prayers in mosques and educating future generations, thus reflecting the Kingdom's identity as the heart of the Islamic world and the cradle of the Prophet Muhammad's message.

The importance of the initiative and its societal impact

Locally, the Karam program holds significant importance in Rafha Governorate, located in the Northern Borders Region, due to its role in strengthening the social fabric. It provides a safe, faith-based, and educational environment for young men and women, engaging them in activities beneficial to their religious and worldly lives. It also contributes to instilling Islamic values and noble morals derived from the Holy Quran, and fosters a spirit of positive competition in good deeds. At the national level, such local programs form the foundational building blocks that support larger initiatives, such as the King Salman Local and International Competition for Memorizing the Holy Quran, and underscore the Kingdom's noble mission of serving the Book of God and disseminating it globally.
