Jubail Municipality initiative to empower productive families during Ramadan
In a move aimed at promoting community development and supporting the local economy, Jubail Governorate Municipality announced the allocation of 30 free spaces for productive families in Al-Salam Park throughout the holy month of Ramadan. This initiative aims to empower these families economically and provide them with an ideal platform to showcase their products during one of the Kingdom's most vibrant and popular seasons.
Economic and social support in line with Vision 2030
This step falls within a broader context of government support for the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) sector, of which "productive families" are a key component. These initiatives represent a practical embodiment of the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which focuses on diversifying income sources, increasing the contribution of small businesses to the GDP, and empowering women economically. Productive families have long been a vital pillar of the local economy, offering handmade products, crafts, and traditional foods that reflect the region's rich cultural heritage. This initiative provides them with an opportunity to reach a wider customer base without the burden of renting commercial spaces.
The importance of timing and location
Choosing Ramadan to launch this initiative is highly strategic, as the holy month witnesses an increase in social and commercial activities, with people flocking to markets and public parks after Taraweeh prayers. Furthermore, selecting Al Salam Park, a vibrant landmark in Jubail, ensures a continuous flow of visitors. The Mayor of Jubail Governorate, Engineer Badi Al Qahtani, explained that the venues were strategically located within the park, creating an atmosphere that reflects the heritage of the holy month, thus adding a special touch to the experience and boosting social and commercial activity in the area.
Official statements and future aspirations
Engineer Al-Qahtani affirmed that this initiative stems from the municipality's commitment to supporting productive families and empowering them to capitalize on peak seasons, thereby increasing their income and ensuring the economic sustainability of their projects. He added that this step falls within the municipality's programs aimed at improving quality of life and enhancing social sustainability by providing supportive and stimulating spaces that open up growth and expansion opportunities for productive families and solidify their role as active partners in the development of the local community.
This initiative is expected to have a direct positive impact on the economy of Jubail, not only by directly supporting 30 families, but also by encouraging a culture of entrepreneurship and motivating more individuals to turn their talents and hobbies into income-generating projects, thus contributing to creating a more productive and prosperous society.
