Tunisian coach Jalal Qadri, manager of Al-Hazm's first football team, expressed his frank opinion about his team's performance following their defeat against Neom FC in a hard-fought match during the thirteenth round of the league. The match, held at Al-Hazm's home ground, was highly competitive, but the final result did not favor the home team.
In the post-match press conference, Kadri emphasized that the scoreline doesn't necessarily reflect the flow of the game or the effort exerted on the pitch. He stated, "We played a great match today, and we deserved a better result given our performance. We created numerous scoring opportunities, but the lack of a final touch prevented us from capitalizing on them." The Tunisian coach added confidently, "Some losses in football can make you feel ashamed of a poor performance, but today was completely different; we didn't feel that way at all. Instead, I want to thank the players for their level of play and fighting spirit throughout the match.".
The discussion touched on the technical aspects and the significant absences the team suffered, with Qadri highlighting the situation of Algerian star Amir Sayoud. He explained, "Amir Sayoud is a player with immense technical abilities and is a key pillar of the team, but he has just returned from an injury that sidelined him for two months. In modern football, we cannot risk playing a player returning from such a long absence without being absolutely certain of his physical readiness, and we know that once he is fully fit, he will be a valuable and powerful addition to the team.".
In related news for Al-Hazm fans, Qadri revealed the reason for Syrian striker Omar Al-Somah's absence, indicating that he suffered a sudden injury before the match. He concluded by saying, "Omar Al-Somah sustained a muscle injury in the final training session before this match, which deprived us of his services. We hope the injury is not serious and that he returns quickly to lead the attack.".
These statements come at a time when Saudi football is witnessing remarkable development and fierce competition between clubs. Al-Hazm is striving to get back on track and return to winning ways, while NEOM continues to deliver strong performances that reflect the ambitious goals of the club's sporting project. Managing injuries and rotating players are among the most significant challenges facing coaches given the congested fixture schedule and intense competition this season.
