Iran’s Revolutionary Guard claimed responsibility on Sunday for targeting the US aircraft carrier “Abraham Lincoln” with four ballistic missiles.
This announcement came in an official statement carried by local media, which explained that the military operation was carried out the day after the American-Israeli attack that killed Iran’s Supreme Leader.
The statement said that the four ballistic missiles directly hit the aircraft carrier, without providing immediate details on the extent of the damage caused by this attack.
In the context of the military escalation, the Revolutionary Guard announced the launch of new offensive waves against what it described as "the enemy." The statement indicated the commencement of the seventh and eighth waves of the operation, codenamed "True Promise 4.".
Media sources quoted the statement as saying that the new attacks were carried out on a large scale, but it did not specify the other locations or targets that were hit by the bombing in these latest waves.
