The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has imposed a temporary ban on the import of poultry meat and table eggs from Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, following international reports of an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza there. The import ban excludes heat-treated products sufficient to eliminate the virus, provided they meet local standards and health requirements. The SFDA requires an official health certificate issued by accredited authorities in Argentina, confirming that the exempted poultry and egg shipments are free of the virus or have been completely eradicated before entering the Kingdom.
