The Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University team secured first place in the university volleyball championship, winning the title after the conclusion of the competitions held on Saturday, Ramadan 11, 1447 AH (February 28). This victory came after the team's win in the final match against the tournament host, King Abdulaziz University.
The final match witnessed a competition between the two sides, as Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University managed to win the result in its favor by three sets to two, so the team won the championship cup, while the King Abdulaziz University team was satisfied with the runner-up position, and the King Saud University team came in third place in the general ranking of the participating teams.
The coronation ceremony took place in the presence of the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Fouad Abu Laban, and the Vice President of the Saudi Universities Sports Federation, Ali bin Abdullah Al-Manea, where the cup and prizes were handed over to the winning teams of the first three places, at the conclusion of the sports gathering that was hosted by the sports village fields at King Abdulaziz University.
The tournament began on February 26th, and the competitions continued during the specified period with the participation of eight Saudi universities, under the supervision and organization of the Saudi Universities Sports Federation, which oversaw the progress of the matches throughout the tournament.
The competitions demonstrated high technical levels from the participating teams, reflecting the interest in university sports and its role in honing talents and developing students’ skill and physical abilities, and creating an organized competitive environment that contributes to supporting the sports journey in universities.
