As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to enhance digital transformation and develop its government services system, the Ministry of Interior continues to provide innovative technological solutions aimed at facilitating services for citizens and residents. The “Absher” platform is at the forefront of these solutions, having become the primary digital gateway for completing official transactions with ease and convenience. This reflects the government’s commitment to achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in raising the efficiency of government performance and improving the quality of life.
“Improvement” service for direct communication with the Civil Status Department
The Absher e-platform has launched a new service called “Tahseen” (Improvement), designed to enable users to communicate directly and effectively with the Ministry of Interior’s Civil Affairs Agency. This service aims to streamline the process of submitting complaints, providing feedback, and suggesting improvements to the Civil Affairs offices across the Kingdom’s various regions and governorates, thereby enhancing transparency and community participation in service development.
The Absher platform explained, via its official account, that benefiting from this service is done through simple and easy steps, which are:
- Log in to the beneficiary's account on the Absher electronic platform.
- Go to the “My Services” tab.
- Select the “Civil Status” sector.
- Click on the “Improvement” service icon and fill in the required data.
Digital family registry services: Goodbye to traditional reviews
In addition to its communication and complaints service, the Absher platform offers a comprehensive suite of services related to the "Family Registry," eliminating the need for beneficiaries to visit civil affairs offices, thus saving time and effort and reducing congestion at government facilities. These services include:
- Issuance of Family Record: A service dedicated to newly married citizens to issue the document electronically for the first time.
- Updating the family record: The possibility of adding newborns or modifying data, updating the record, and requesting its delivery to the national address.
- Issuance of a replacement for a lost record: Enables immediate reporting of a lost record and requesting a replacement copy without complicated paperwork.
- Issuance of a replacement for a damaged record: The beneficiary is able to request the replacement of the damaged record with a new one electronically.
The impact of digital transformation on government services
This expansion of e-services through “Absher” is a testament to the qualitative leap in the Kingdom’s digital infrastructure. These services contribute to reducing operational costs, expediting transactions, and eliminating bureaucracy, thus placing the Kingdom among the leading countries in the field of e-government.
