The governor of Al-Muthnib launched the "It's Our Right" initiative, implemented by Al-Muthnib General Hospital, to provide dental treatment services to home care beneficiaries through mobile clinics in cooperation with the Qassim Cluster.

In a significant step reflecting the health sector's commitment to enhancing quality of life and facilitating access to medical services, Al-Muthnib General Hospital launched the "It's Our Duty" initiative, under the patronage and in the presence of Al-Muthnib Governor Abdulrahman Al-Sudais. This initiative, implemented by the hospital's Home Healthcare Department and attended by a number of leading healthcare professionals, represents a major shift in the way healthcare services are provided to the most vulnerable members of society.

Details of the initiative and its objectives

The Qassim Health Cluster explained that the "It's Our Duty" initiative focuses primarily on providing dental treatment and care services to home healthcare beneficiaries in their places of residence. This is achieved by equipping and operating a fully integrated mobile dental unit, thus removing obstacles for patients whose health conditions prevent them from visiting traditional clinics within hospitals, thereby improving their quality of life and alleviating their suffering.

The context of the health transformation and the Kingdom's Vision 2030

This initiative is significant because it aligns with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program, one of the programs under the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to restructure the health sector into a comprehensive, efficient, and integrated healthcare system. Strengthening home healthcare is a cornerstone of this transformation, as the Ministry of Health and its regional health clusters strive to bring services to patients rather than transporting them to hospitals, particularly for the elderly, people with disabilities, and those with chronic illnesses. This reduces the burden on hospitals and improves operational efficiency.

Social and health impact of the initiative

From a medical and social perspective, dental problems pose a significant challenge for bedridden or immobile patients, as oral health is often neglected due to the difficulty of transporting them. This highlights the vital role of the mobile dental unit, whose operation was demonstrated during the launch, providing immediate on-site solutions. This intervention not only alleviates pain but also prevents serious health complications that can arise from gum and tooth infections in this vulnerable population.

Effective community partnership

This initiative would not have seen the light of day without the combined efforts and active community partnership, thanks to the generous support of the "Friends of Patients Committee in Buraidah." This support reflects the vital role of the non-profit sector and community committees in supporting government efforts to bridge gaps in healthcare services and enable humanitarian initiatives to achieve their goals.

The “It is Our Duty to Them” initiative is part of a series of ongoing efforts by the Qassim Health Cluster to launch quality initiatives that address the needs of the community, emphasizing its constant commitment to providing comprehensive and integrated health care befitting the beneficiaries in Al-Muthnib Governorate and the Qassim region in general.
