The National Gas and Industrialization Company “GASCO” announced a new strategic decision that affects the daily lives of citizens and residents in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is to unify the prices of filling liquid petroleum gas used in cylinders and central tanks in all regions of the Kingdom, starting from the first of January 2026 AD.
Details of the new unified prices
In its official statement, the company revealed its updated and standardized price list. The price for refilling an 11 kg gas cylinder was set at SAR 26.23 , and the price for refilling a smaller 5 kg cylinder was set at SAR 11.93 . For central tanks, which serve many homes and commercial establishments, the refilling fee was set at SAR 1.1770 per liter . Gasco confirmed that these prices are final and inclusive of transportation costs and VAT, thus eliminating any ambiguity regarding the final cost for the consumer.
The context of energy governance and economic reform
This decision is not an isolated measure, but rather part of a broader framework of governance procedures for adjusting energy and water product prices adopted by the Kingdom. This step falls within the structural economic reforms aimed at increasing energy efficiency and enhancing financial sustainability. Since the launch of Vision 2030, the energy sector has undergone fundamental transformations aimed at redirecting subsidies to those who need them most and improving operational efficiency in vital sectors. Price unification is part of this integrated system to ensure market stability.
The importance of the decision and its impact on consumers and regions
This decision is particularly significant due to its geographical and social dimensions; its primary aim is to reduce price disparities that may arise between major and remote areas as a result of transportation and logistics costs. Through this standardization, the company ensures fair pricing for all consumers, regardless of their geographical location within the Kingdom.
This measure will also contribute to improving the quality of services provided, as clear and standardized pricing enhances transparency and prevents any potential price manipulation by unofficial distributors. This approach reflects Gasco's commitment to its role as a national partner supporting development and its ongoing efforts to develop its services in line with international standards and the aspirations of consumers in the Kingdom, thereby strengthening economic integration and supporting the stability of household energy expenditures.
