The Riyadh Municipality, represented by its Central District sector, conducted field inspections of several restaurants and food establishments during the holy month of Ramadan. This initiative is part of its ongoing efforts to enhance compliance with health and commercial regulations and protect consumer health. The inspections included verifying establishments' adherence to approved health requirements, monitoring the safety of food storage and preparation, and ensuring the validity of licenses for both establishments and their employees. The inspection teams also focused on implementing food safety standards and ensuring adherence to general hygiene practices within kitchens and food preparation areas, guaranteeing the provision of safe meals for consumers during Ramadan. The municipality implemented RiyadhRepresented by the Secretariat sector in the city center, a field tour was conducted of a number of restaurants andFood establishments During the holy month of Ramadan, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote compliance with health and commercial requirements and to protect consumer health.
The inspection tours included verifying the establishments’ compliance with the approved health requirements, monitoring the safety of food storage and preparation, in addition to ensuring the validity of the regulatory licenses for the establishments and their employees.

Applying food safety standards

During their inspections, the teams focused on enforcing food safety standards and ensuring adherence to general hygiene practices in kitchens and food preparation areas, guaranteeing the provision of safe meals for consumers during Ramadan.
The municipality confirmed that these inspections are part of its intensified monitoring plan for the Ramadan season, noting that several violations were identified and appropriate measures were taken against non-compliant establishments. Field campaigns will continue to enhance compliance and raise food safety standards in food establishments.
