In a global competitive atmosphere and on the grounds of the “Saudi Jumping” arena in Janadriyah, His Highness Prince Abdullah bin Fahd bin Abdullah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Equestrian Federation, crowned the Italian rider Emanuele Camilli with the title of the Grand Prix round for the four-star category, at the conclusion of the first week of competitions of the most prominent championship in the region.

Details of the coronation night and the fierce competition

The Grand Prix, with jumps reaching 1.55 meters, witnessed a fierce competition among the world's elite riders. Italian rider Emanuele Camilli, ranked 49th globally, secured the title after completing the course in a record time of 78.27 seconds. The competition remained intense until the very last moments, with Belgian rider Jan Vermeeren finishing second, just fractions of a second behind with a time of 78.76 seconds. Saudi rider Abdulrahman Al-Rajhi, a star of the Saudi national team and ranked 75th globally, salvaged some pride for Arab equestrianism by finishing third in 78.83 seconds, reaffirming the ability of Saudi riders to compete with the best.

Saudi Arabia's leap: A global sporting showcase

The Saudi Jumping Championship is gaining increasing importance year after year, as it comes within the context of the significant sporting development taking place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in line with Vision 2030, which places special emphasis on the sports sector and hosting international events. Organized by the Saudi Equestrian Federation at the Janadriyah site, this championship is considered one of the most important events on the international equestrian calendar in the region, given its substantial prize money exceeding 5 million riyals and the wide participation of 173 riders representing 14 countries, thus reinforcing the Kingdom's position as a global destination for show jumping.

Results of the accompanying rounds and the brilliance of the Saudi riders

Aside from the Grand Prix, the championship witnessed exciting competitions across various categories. German rider Christopher Klassner won the sixth event, the "Joker Fence" (1.45 meters), while Saudi riders dominated the junior and youth categories, promising a bright future for Saudi equestrianism. Al-Jawhara Al-Mutairi won the youth category, Abdulaziz Qahal claimed the junior title, and Mashhour Al-Othaim secured first place in the junior category.

The one-star competitions also witnessed a remarkable international presence, as the Algerian rider Abdelkader Beyate snatched the title of “Small Prix”, and the Egyptian rider Mustafa Said topped the final of the intermediate category, reflecting the great diversity and high technical level that the current edition of the championship enjoyed.
