His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Saudi Minister of Defense, emphasized the pivotal role played by citizens in maintaining the security and stability of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In a move reflecting national unity, His Highness called upon everyone to immediately report any suspicious objects in the airspace, such as missiles or drones, using the Tawakkalna application , which has become a comprehensive and reliable national platform. This call was made via His Highness's official account on the “X” platform, where he stressed that awareness and vigilance are the primary weapons in confronting any attempts targeting the nation's security and resources.
The development of the security system and reliance on the Tawakkalna application
Historically, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been committed to continuously developing its defense and security systems to address escalating regional challenges. With rapid technological advancements, defense strategies have evolved to include the engagement of civil society as an integral part of the national security framework. The Tawakkalna application , launched by the Saudi Data & Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), has emerged as one of the most trusted government applications. Over time, the application's services have been expanded to encompass numerous security and service-related aspects, making it the ideal tool for receiving citizen reports quickly and confidentially, ensuring a timely and efficient response from relevant authorities.
Strategic dimensions for enhancing community awareness
The Defense Minister's call carries significant strategic dimensions at the local, regional, and international levels. Locally, this step reinforces the concept of "security as everyone's responsibility" and fosters strong unity between the leadership and the people, thereby enhancing national preparedness to address any emergencies or potential threats. Regionally, involving citizens in monitoring aerial threats reflects the cohesion of the Saudi home front and its ability to counter unconventional threats, such as drones, which have become a common tool in modern conflicts and attempts to destabilize the region.
Integrating technology and defense to protect national assets
At the international level, the Kingdom sends a clear message that it relies on a sophisticated digital infrastructure and a conscious and responsible society to protect its territory and vital interests, which are closely linked to the stability of the global economy. The integration of modern technology into security and defense operations represents a global model for crisis management. In this context, the vigilance of citizens and residents remains the first line of defense, as prompt and accurate reporting contributes to thwarting any hostile plots and ensures the continued progress and prosperity the Kingdom is witnessing under Vision 2030.
Citizens are partners in defending the homeland through their awareness and vigilance against all threats. We urge them to report any sightings of missiles or drones via the Tawakkalna app ( @TawakkalnaApp . https://t.co/e2XdxgeRSH
