The Dammam Culture and Arts Association has announced a comprehensive package of cultural and artistic programs and activities for the new season of 2026, reflecting the continued growth of the cultural scene in the Eastern Province. The association is scheduled to officially launch its activities on January 4th with a diverse agenda encompassing literature, thought, and visual arts, catering to the aspirations of intellectuals and those interested in the arts.
The activities begin with a critical reading and discussion of the book "Between Stumbles and Aspirations," opening the door to literary dialogue between readers and critics. The very next day, the association continues its intellectual activities with the 53rd session of "Socrates of the Coast Café," which will focus on everyday questions in our lives. This event aims to promote simplified philosophical thinking and connect it to lived reality, reflecting the association's commitment to deepening the intellectual dimension of its activities.
In a related development concerning visual arts, the association announced the extension of the Eastern Province Calligraphers Exhibition until January 8th, due to its overwhelming popularity and the importance of this authentic art form. The exhibition is not limited to displays; it also includes training workshops and specialized lectures on Arabic calligraphy, contributing to honing the talents of young calligraphers and preserving this important cultural heritage.
This strong start comes as an extension of the association's successes at the end of 2025, when it concluded the past year by presenting the children's poetic play "The New Horizon," in addition to organizing a high-quality cultural evening entitled "Philosophy and Theater." That evening featured important contributions, most notably the explanation by the Chairman of the Board, Abdulaziz Al-Smaeel, that philosophy in theater is brilliantly manifested through live and dynamic theatrical action, not through the direct and rigid narration of philosophical concepts, thus confirming the mature artistic vision adopted by the association.
The programs of the Dammam Culture and Arts Association are of particular importance within the context of the comprehensive cultural movement underway in Saudi Arabia as part of Vision 2030. The association plays a pivotal role in developing local talent and providing creative platforms for artists and intellectuals in the Eastern Province. These ongoing events contribute to enhancing the quality of life and creating a vibrant community environment that engages with the arts and literature, thus solidifying Dammam's position as a prominent cultural destination on the local and regional map.
