His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister - may God protect him - received a written message from his brother, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan of Oman, concerning the strong bilateral relations that bind the two brotherly countries and ways to support and strengthen them in various fields.
The message was received by His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Engineer Waleed bin Abdulkarim Al-Khuraiji, during his meeting today at the Ministry's headquarters in Riyadh with the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Najib bin Hilal bin Saud Al-Busaidi. During the meeting, they reviewed the distinguished bilateral relations and discussed matters of common interest, in a manner that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples and countries.
The depth of Saudi-Omani relations
This message comes within the framework of ongoing communication and continuous consultation between the leaderships of the two countries, reflecting the depth of the historical and fraternal ties that bind the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman. Relations between Riyadh and Muscat have witnessed remarkable development and a qualitative leap in recent years, driven by the shared desire of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his brother, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, and closely followed by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Saudi-Omani Coordination Council
These growing relations are based on strong institutional foundations, most notably the establishment of the Saudi-Omani Coordination Council, which aims to develop a shared vision for deepening and sustaining relations, raising the level of cooperation in political, security, and military fields, and strengthening economic and investment partnerships. The Council has contributed to the signing of numerous agreements and memoranda of understanding covering vital sectors such as energy, transportation, logistics, and tourism.
Integrating Visions: 2030 and 2040
It is worth noting that the two countries are working in close harmony to achieve the goals of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and Oman's Vision 2040. The two visions converge on many developmental and economic objectives, particularly in diversifying income sources and reducing dependence on oil. The opening of the direct land route between the two countries across the Empty Quarter is a prime example of this integration, as this vital artery has facilitated trade and the movement of citizens, thereby enhancing investment opportunities and commercial exchange.
This written message reaffirms the Omani leadership’s commitment to continuous coordination with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on regional and international issues, which contributes to strengthening security and stability in the Gulf and Middle East region, and emphasizes the unity of destiny and the common Gulf position.
