The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues its rapid progress towards comprehensive digital transformation in various sectors, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. At the heart of this transformation comes the service of the pilgrims of the Two Holy Mosques as a top priority, as the Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque seeks to employ modern technology to facilitate the performance of rituals and enrich the spiritual experience of pilgrims, Umrah performers and visitors.
In this context, the Presidency intensified its efforts to enhance the system of religious services through the “Al-Qasid Portal” digital platform, which is a smart and comprehensive window that aims to facilitate access for those seeking religious knowledge to reliable religious content, transcending the barriers of time and place.
Key services of the “Al-Qasid Portal” in the Two Holy Mosques
The “Al-Qasid Gate” is distinguished by offering a comprehensive package of religious and enrichment services carefully designed to meet the needs of visitors, including:
- Live broadcast: Live transmission of sermons and scholarly lessons held in the corridors of the Two Holy Mosques, allowing Muslims around the world to follow the rituals moment by moment.
- Basic information: Providing accurate prayer times, and introducing the holy sites and historical and religious landmarks of the Two Holy Mosques.
- Legal guidance: Providing simple and easy explanations of the manner of prayer and ablution, to ensure that acts of worship are performed correctly.
- Audio content: A library containing selections of traditional supplications and humble recitations by the imams of the Two Holy Mosques.
- Legal terminology: A comprehensive explanation of religious terms that a pilgrim or Umrah performer may need during their journey.
Universality of the message and multilingualism
Recognizing the universality of the Islamic message and the diversity of cultures and languages of those who visit the Holy House and the Mosque of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, the Presidency did not limit itself to Arabic content, but expanded to include specialized digital platforms that break the language barrier.
In this context, the “Message of the Two Holy Mosques” platform stands out, which is concerned with publishing digital books and guidance content in several international languages, making it easier for non-Arabic speaking visitors to understand the rules of rituals and the objectives of Sharia.
Technology in the service of the Holy Quran
The digital system did not overlook the aspect of teaching the Holy Quran, as the “Haramain Recitation Center” was activated to teach correct recitation remotely, in addition to the “Surah Al-Fatihah Platform,” which uses artificial intelligence and modern technologies to teach the surah and correct its recitation for beneficiaries, which reflects the Presidency’s keenness to invest in the latest technology to serve the Book of God.
This technological movement confirms that serving the Two Holy Mosques is not limited to the urban and field service aspects, but extends to include the intellectual and spiritual development of visitors, providing them with an easy and safe faith experience that keeps pace with the spirit of the times.
