The economic importance of the Eastern Province

The elections and appointments of the Eastern Province Chamber of Commerce are of exceptional importance given the strategic position of the Eastern Province as the industrial and energy capital of Saudi Arabia. The Chamber, one of the oldest and most prestigious chambers of commerce in the Kingdom, is a key driver in representing the interests of the private sector in a region that is home to some of the world's largest oil, gas, and petrochemical companies, as well as major industrial cities like Jubail and Dammam.

The Chamber's role in achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030

The formation of the new council comes at a crucial time, coinciding with the Kingdom's accelerated progress towards achieving the goals of Vision 2030, which relies heavily on the private sector to increase its contribution to GDP to 65%. The new council is expected to play a pivotal role in attracting foreign and domestic investment, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and boosting trade.

The new formation also reflects the diversity of experiences between veteran entrepreneurs and young leaders, in addition to empowering women in economic leadership positions, which was clearly demonstrated in the appointment of active female members to the council, thus enhancing the inclusiveness of economic decision-making and meeting all the aspirations of the business community.
