The Minister of Commerce, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, issued a ministerial decree appointing and approving the members of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Province Chamber of Commerce for its twentieth term. This step aims to inject new energy and strengthen the role of the private sector in economic development. According to the decree, the new board's term begins on 19 Rajab 1447 AH, corresponding to January 8, 2026, and will last for four years, during which time the board will lead commercial and industrial activity in one of the Kingdom's most important economic regions.
The strategic importance of the Eastern Province Chamber
The elections and appointments of the Eastern Province Chamber of Commerce are of particular importance given the Eastern Province's pivotal role as the industrial and energy capital of Saudi Arabia. The Chamber plays a central role in representing the interests of business leaders and serves as an effective link between the private sector and government entities. The formation of this board comes at a time of unprecedented economic activity in the Kingdom, driven by the goals of Vision 2030. The new board is expected to contribute to enhancing local content, attracting foreign investment, and supporting the energy, logistics, and manufacturing sectors.
