The Arabian Gulf Cup U-23 2025™ kicked off today in Doha, Qatar , amidst an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation from Gulf fans. The opening day of the tournament, hosted at the world-class Aspire Zone stadiums, witnessed some surprises and exciting results. The Yemeni national team secured a valuable 2-1 victory over their Iraqi counterparts, while the UAE team asserted their dominance with a well-deserved 2-0 win against Oman.
Tournament and group system
The tournament runs from December 4th to 16th, and this edition holds special significance as it is the first to be officially organized under the auspices of the Arabian Gulf Cup Football Federation. Eight national teams are participating in this Gulf event, divided into two strong groups
- Group One: Includes the Qatari national team (the host), along with the national teams of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
- Group Two: Includes the national teams of Iraq, the UAE, Oman, and Yemen.
On December 5, all eyes will be on the Qatari national team's first appearance against their Kuwaiti counterparts at 2:45 PM, while on the same day another Gulf derby will take place between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain at 3:00 PM.

The 14 group stage matches will be held at Aspire Zone , which continue to solidify its position as a world-class sporting destination, especially after recently hosting the historic FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025™. The tournament will culminate in the final match on December 16 at 974 Stadium . This stadium holds special significance as the first fully demountable stadium in World Cup history and has witnessed unforgettable matches during the Qatar 2022 World Cup, giving Olympic team players the opportunity to play on a pitch steeped in World Cup history.
