Al-Qadisiyah management invites Brazilian Carlos to open the Ramadan ceremony and honors the historical top scorer Nasser Eid (Riley) as part of initiatives to document the club's history and correct its founding date.

Al-Qadsia Club announced that it has extended an official invitation to Brazilian star José Carlos to inaugurate the club's annual Ramadan celebration, where he will be honored in the presence of a select group of Al-Qadsia's golden generation stars. This tribute is based on the player's distinguished career with the team, as fans still fondly recall his decisive goals, particularly those scored from free kicks, which played a pivotal role in the club's victory in the Asian Cup Winners' Cup. Furthermore, he directly contributed, along with his teammates, to the team reaching four different finals in just two seasons.

Honoring the Brazilian star is part of a comprehensive strategy implemented by the club's management to connect its current fan base with Al-Qadisiyah's rich history. This strategy has recently taken shape through the club's official efforts to correct the historical narrative surrounding its founding. The management seeks to document the club's history by tracing it back to the 1930s, rather than relying on the date of the final merger between Al-Shoalah and Al-Khobar clubs in 1968.

As part of its efforts to strengthen its historical identity, the club is adopting initiatives aimed at rediscovering the icons who formed the link between the old era of the Al-Sha'la team (with its red and yellow colors) and the current Al-Qadisiyah era. Foremost among these is Nasser Eid, known as "Riley," who is considered the all-time top scorer of an early generation of Al-Qadisiyah players who left their mark on the Eastern Province.

Nasser Eid “Riley” boasts a distinguished sporting record that has contributed to the club's success, having won eight championships with Al-Shoalah and Al-Qadisiyah. Furthermore, he etched his name in Saudi football history as the first player to win the top scorer title in the inaugural Saudi Premier League in 1977, having previously won the top scorer title in the Eastern Province League.

By celebrating these historical figures, whether local players like Riley or former professionals like Carlos, the club's management aims to raise awareness among sports fans about Al-Qadisiyah's role in establishing and developing football in the Eastern Province. The administration emphasizes that these initiatives will strengthen the connection between today's fans and their club's past, highlighting the club's rich history that extends beyond its officially recognized founding dates.
