Al-Taawoun FC officially announced the signing of Al-Hilal player Mohammed Al-Qahtani on loan for the 2025/26 season. Learn more about the deal, the player's statistics, and the Roshan League standings.

The board of directors of Al-Taawoun Club officially announced that it had successfully completed the procedures for signing the young player Mohammed Al-Qahtani, coming from the ranks of Al-Hilal Club, as part of the efforts of the management of “Sukkari Al-Qassim” to strengthen the ranks of the first football team with distinguished elements capable of providing technical addition during the upcoming competitions.

Al-Taawoun FC announced in an official statement released today, Sunday, that they have signed Al-Qahtani on a one-year loan deal, meaning he will represent the team during the current 2025/2026 season. This move comes at the recommendation of the club's technical staff to bolster the team's attacking options. Al-Taawoun has been performing impressively in the Saudi Professional League, and the club aims to maintain its strong performances and compete fiercely for top positions.

The player's career and statistics with Al-Hilal

Mohammed Al-Qahtani, 23, is a product of Al-Hilal's youth academy, having been promoted to the first team during the 2021/2022 season. He plays as a striker and winger, and is known for his speed and skill. However, his chances of securing a regular starting position with "Al-Za'eem" (Al-Hilal) have been limited due to the presence of a constellation of international and local stars in Al-Hilal's attacking line.

This season, Al-Qahtani has only made six appearances for Al-Hilal, failing to score or assist a single goal, accumulating a total of just 47 minutes of playing time. His loan move presents a golden opportunity for the player to gain more playing time and experience, a common practice among top clubs for their young talents to ensure their development before returning to compete for a starting position.

Cooperation's position in the league and future ambitions

This deal comes at a time when Al-Taawoun is experiencing a period of technical and administrative stability. The team currently sits in third place in the Saudi Professional League standings with 31 points, tied on points with second-placed Al-Nassr, though Al-Nassr has a superior goal difference. Al-Hilal leads the league with 35 points.

This deal holds particular significance domestically, as Al-Taawoun aims to secure a spot in Asian competitions and challenge the league's top clubs for titles. Al-Qahtani's arrival is expected to significantly enhance the squad's depth, providing the coaching staff with diverse tactical options, especially given the congested fixture schedule and the league's high level of competition. The transfer also reflects the strong relationship between the Al-Hilal and Al-Taawoun administrations and underscores Al-Hilal's strategy of giving its young players the opportunity to gain experience in a highly competitive environment like that of Al-Taawoun.
