Al-Shabab hosts Al-Najma in the 17th round of the Roshan League. The Lions are looking to bounce back and escape the relegation zone despite significant absences, and are aiming to secure three points against the bottom-ranked team.

Saudi football fans will be glued to their screens tomorrow, Tuesday, as Al-Shabab hosts Al-Najma at the SHG Arena in Riyadh in a crucial match for the 17th round of the Saudi Professional League. This game is of paramount importance to both teams given their precarious positions in the standings and their desperate need for points.

Al-Shabab, one of the historical giants of Saudi football, is going through a difficult period and facing significant challenges this season, currently sitting in 14th place with only 11 points. This situation is unfamiliar to "The Lions," who have been accustomed to competing for titles and top positions in recent years. The team enters the match aiming for its third victory in the competition, hoping to break its streak of inconsistent results and take a significant step away from the threat of relegation and the danger zone that now looms over the team's stability, especially given the tremendous development and fierce competition witnessed in the Saudi league this season, bolstered by international signings.

On the other hand, Al-Najma is in dire straits, languishing in last place (18th) in the standings with a mere 3 points, earned from three draws and suffering 12 defeats. This match represents a lifeline for the visiting team, who hope to pull off a major upset and return with a positive result that could be a turning point in their league campaign as they strive to avoid relegation.

Technically, despite Al Shabab's recent loss to Al Nassr, the team showed marked improvement in performance and delivered a strong showing, coming close to securing a draw. This gives the coaching staff and players a positive indication of their ability to return to winning ways. However, Al Shabab's ambitions are hampered by a significant number of absences. They will be without their Moroccan striker, Abderrazak Hamdallah, due to injury, in addition to the suspensions of Swiss player Vincent Seruade and Abdullah Maatouq.

To compensate for these absences, Al-Shabab are relying on a squad of international and local stars capable of making a difference, led by the experienced Brazilian goalkeeper Marcelo Grohe, his compatriot Carlos Junior, in addition to the French dynamo Yacine Adli, the Englishman Josh Brownhill, and the Belgian star Yannick Carrasco, from whom much is expected to lead the team to safety and secure the points.

In contrast, Al-Najma enters the match with relatively high morale after securing a draw against Al-Fateh in the previous round. They hope to be mentally and technically prepared to return with a victory or, at the very least, a draw. Despite missing Moroccan defender Jawad El Yamiq, who is with his national team, the team boasts prominent names such as goalkeeper Victor Braga, Frenchman Bilal Boutouba, the talented Iraqi Ali Jassim, and Honduran Romell Quioto, all aiming to snatch a positive result in Riyadh.
