Al-Sarar Municipality has completed the project of paving the streets of Al-Masif settlement with an area of 7353 m2, as part of efforts to improve the urban landscape and raise the efficiency of roads in the Eastern Province in accordance with Vision 2030.

The Al-Sarar Municipality, part of the Eastern Province Municipality, announced the completion of all road paving works in the Al-Masif settlement, covering a total area of 7,353 square meters. This achievement is a key component of the municipality's ongoing and intensive efforts to develop and improve the internal road network, aiming to enhance traffic safety and facilitate the movement of citizens and residents.

Strengthening infrastructure and improving road efficiency

The Mayor of Al-Sarar, Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Dosari, explained that this project is an extension of a series of development projects that the municipality is currently undertaking. Al-Dosari emphasized the municipality's strong commitment to applying the highest quality standards and technical specifications approved by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing during the paving work. This ensures the roads' longevity and service to residents for the longest possible period, meeting their aspirations and contributing to the achievement of comprehensive local development goals.

National development context and Vision 2030

This project cannot be viewed in isolation from the comprehensive development drive underway in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's municipal services sector. These efforts fall under the "Quality of Life" program, a key component of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to improve the urban landscape and enhance services in cities, governorates, and rural communities alike. Municipalities across the Kingdom are working to bridge the development gap between major cities and outlying areas by strengthening road networks, lighting, and sidewalks.

The strategic importance of developing rural areas and centers

Developing the road network in the villages and centers affiliated with the Eastern Province governorates, such as Al-Masif village, is of paramount importance that goes beyond mere paving. From a socio-economic perspective, improving roads connects these population centers to main thoroughfares, facilitating access to essential services like ambulances and civil defense, and supporting inter-regional trade. Furthermore, regular road maintenance and resurfacing reduce damage to vehicles and lower the rate of traffic accidents caused by deteriorated asphalt.

Continued plans to improve the urban landscape

The municipality concluded its statement by affirming its commitment to continuing the implementation of the development packages included in its approved current and future budget plans. These plans encompass not only road paving but also beautification, landscaping, and maintenance of public facilities, in line with national directives to improve the urban landscape and eliminate visual pollution, thus ensuring a healthy and safe living environment for all residents of Al-Sarar and its surrounding villages.
