Al-Najma Club welcomes its new board of directors, headed by Meshaal Al-Marzouqi. Learn about the board's composition, the reasons for the previous president's resignation, and the plans for the upcoming phase in the Yellow League.

In a move aimed at enhancing administrative and technical stability within the club, the headquarters of Al-Najma Club in Unaizah Governorate received, yesterday, Sunday, the new board of directors tasked with running the club’s affairs, headed by Mr. Meshaal bin Mansour Al-Marzouki, and his deputy, Mr. Muhannad bin Ibrahim Al-Wunain.

At the forefront of those welcoming the new administration was the CEO of the club’s operations sector, Mr. Abdullah Al-Ghamiz, along with a number of the club’s staff and employees, in a scene that reflects the cohesion and shared desire to begin a new phase of diligent work to serve the Najma entity.

Intensive meetings to draw up the roadmap

According to Al-Najma Club's media center, the visit was not merely a protocolary one. Upon the new president's arrival, he immediately held a series of important administrative meetings. These meetings addressed the features of the upcoming phase and identified urgent priorities requiring direct intervention to ensure the smooth operation of all sports and levels, in line with the aspirations of Al-Najma's vast fan base.

Background of the ministerial decision and the formation of the council

This administrative change follows the Ministry of Sports' decision to accept the resignation of Mr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Munif, the club's former acting president, due to personal circumstances. The Ministry based its decision to terminate the previous board's mandate and appoint the current one on Article 95, Paragraph (10) of the Basic Regulations for Sports Clubs, a procedural measure designed to ensure the continuity of institutional operations.

The official list of the interim board of directors included:

  • Mishaal bin Mansour Al-Marzouqi: Chairman of the Board.
  • Muhannad bin Ibrahim Al-Wunain: Vice President.
  • Adnan bin Salman Al-Hussein: Member.
  • Badr bin Abdulrahman Al-Haqbani: Member (Former Saudi football star).
  • Abdullah bin Salman bin Haizan: Member.
  • Abdulmalik bin Abdullah Al-Mutairi: Member.

The importance of administrative stability in the Yellow League

This appointment is particularly significant given Al-Najma Club's position on the Saudi sports map, specifically its participation in the First Division League (Yello League). Administrative stability is considered a cornerstone for achieving positive results on the field. The new administration faces the challenges of preserving the club's achievements, supporting the first football team to compete strongly, and nurturing the youth teams and the various other sports in which the club excels.

Club governance and future direction

The Ministry of Sport's swift intervention to form a temporary board reflects the commitment of relevant authorities to implementing the highest standards of governance and transparency in Saudi clubs. This transitional phase is crucial for organizing the club's internal affairs and creating a suitable environment, whether for the board to continue achieving its objectives or for preparing for future elections. This ensures that Najma Unaizah remains on the right track as one of the historic clubs in the Qassim region and the Kingdom.
