A smart strategy in the winter transfer window
Amidst the fierce competition in the Saudi Professional League, Al-Khaleej FC has taken strategic steps to bolster its first football team during the winter transfer window. The club's management successfully secured three promising local signings, aiming to build on the team's impressive performance in the second half of the season and solidify its ambitions of remaining among the elite and achieving a high ranking.
Background and context of contracts
This calculated move by Al-Khaleej's management comes amidst the tremendous development of the Saudi League, which has become a destination for the world's top football stars. In this new reality, the importance of investing in local talent and building a cohesive team that blends experience and youth becomes paramount. The club was able to finance these deals thanks to the lucrative financial returns generated from the transfer of its two young stars, international defender Murad Hawsawi and goalkeeper Rayan Al-Dossari, to Al-Hilal, a move that reflects the success of the club's strategy in developing and marketing its players.
New players in the ranks of “Al Dana”
Al-Khaleej's reinforcements included three players with diverse technical attributes that would give the coach additional options in various positions:
- Badr Manshi (26 years old): A versatile midfielder, joining from Al-Diriyah on a free transfer. A graduate of Al-Ahli's academy, Manshi is a valuable addition to the midfield thanks to his ability to also play as a full-back. He has good experience in Saudi football, having previously played for Damac, Al-Kawkab, and Al-Diriyah.
- Hussein Al-Essa (25 years old): A skillful winger from Al-Jabalain, known for his high technical abilities and his capacity to make a difference in the attacking third. Al-Essa previously played for Al-Adalah and Al-Wahda, gaining valuable experience in the Saudi Professional League. The significance of this signing lies in the fact that Al-Khaleej's current coach, Giorgos Donis, is well aware of the player's capabilities, having coached him during his previous stint with Al-Wahda.
- Faisal Al-Bakr (21 years old): Considered one of the most prominent young talents in the defensive midfield position (number 6), he also comes from Al-Jabalain Club. Al-Bakr has attracted attention with his outstanding performances in the reserve league and with the first team, and he has previously represented Saudi Arabia at various youth levels. Many experts believe he will be one of the future stars of Saudi football.
A future vision for Gulf management
These moves reflect the clear vision of Al-Khaleej Club's management, led by Chairman Ahmed Khuraida, CEO Ali Al-Mohsen, and their team, which focuses on attracting talented young players capable of contributing to the team in both the short and long term. This strategy aims to build a strong and sustainable team that can compete effectively in the Roshan League and benefit from future player sales to ensure the club's financial stability and continued development.
