The Governor of Al-Jawf was briefed on the details of the project for the rehabilitation complex for children with disabilities in Sakaka, a non-profit development project that aims to enhance the quality of life in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

In a move reflecting the growing interest in enhancing quality of life and providing comprehensive care for all segments of society, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Jawf Region, held an important meeting in his office today to review the details of the project for a rehabilitation complex for children with disabilities in Sakaka. The meeting was attended by the CEO of the Children with Disabilities Association, Dr. Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Tamimi, and a number of officials and advisors to discuss the dimensions of this vital development project.

A pioneering project for integrated service

During the meeting, His Royal Highness the Prince of the region reviewed a detailed presentation about the project, which will be built on a total area of 15,000 square meters. This complex is a non-profit development project aimed at bringing about a qualitative leap in the services provided to children with disabilities in the Al-Jawf region and surrounding areas. The complex is designed to include integrated facilities such as a school for boys and another for girls, a specialized day care center, and an advanced rehabilitation center offering specialized therapeutic services such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, and behavior modification. This integrated approach aims to provide a supportive environment that enables children to reach their full potential and promotes their inclusion in society.

Project background and its national importance

This project comes within the framework of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s broader national efforts to support and empower people with disabilities, a key pillar of the Quality of Life Program under Vision 2030. The Vision aims to build a vibrant and inclusive society that guarantees the rights of all its members and provides them with opportunities for active participation. The Children with Disabilities Association, with its long and distinguished history spanning decades, plays a pivotal role in achieving these goals by expanding its network of specialized centers to cover all regions of the Kingdom and providing its services according to the highest international standards.

Expected impact on the region and society

The complex is expected to have a profound positive impact at both the local and regional levels. Locally, the project will spare residents of the Al-Jawf region the hardship of traveling to major cities for specialized rehabilitation services for their children, and will create new job opportunities for professionals in special education and rehabilitation. Nationally, the project represents a successful model of partnership between the public and non-profit sectors to achieve sustainable development goals, and it reinforces the Kingdom's position as a leader in social and humanitarian care. The project's architectural design draws inspiration from local urban character while incorporating environmentally friendly green building standards, thus promoting sustainability and operational efficiency.

At the conclusion of the meeting, His Royal Highness the Prince of Al-Jawf emphasized the importance of supporting such impactful initiatives that contribute to empowering people with disabilities, praising the role of the non-profit sector as a key partner in development. For his part, Dr. Al-Tamimi expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness for his support and interest, affirming that his guidance serves as a strong incentive to complete the project and achieve its developmental and humanitarian goals.
