Al-Ittihad Saudi Club officially announced the preparatory program for its first football team during its current training camp in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which is taking advantage of the current break in domestic competitions. This camp aims to improve the players' technical and physical readiness before their return to the Saudi Professional League.
Al Ittihad's friendly match schedule in Dubai
The Al-Ittihad Media Center revealed in an official statement issued today, Sunday, that the team's coaching staff has decided to play two friendly matches during the short training camp. The first match, scheduled for Wednesday, December 10th, will be against Palm City FC of the UAE , serving as the first test to assess the players' performance.
In the second friendly, Al-Ittihad will face Gulf United of the UAE on Sunday, December 14, which is the final day of the training camp. The coaching staff aims, through these two matches, to implement new tactical strategies and give a number of players the opportunity to participate and gain match experience.
The importance of the camp and correcting the course
Al-Ittihad's training camp in Dubai will last for one week, starting on December 7th and continuing until the 14th. This period is of paramount importance to the Jeddah-based team, especially given their current position in the league standings. Al-Ittihad currently occupies seventh place in the Roshan League table with 14 points, a position that falls short of the ambitions of the club's fans and is inconsistent with its rich history as one of the giants of Saudi football and a perennial title contender.
International breaks or scheduled breaks provide a golden opportunity for major clubs to regroup and address defensive and offensive shortcomings exposed in previous rounds, away from the pressure of consecutive official matches. Dubai is also a preferred destination for Saudi clubs to hold training camps due to its proximity, advanced sports infrastructure, and top-tier stadiums.
Preparing to face Al-Hazm
Following the conclusion of their training camp and their return to the Kingdom, Al-Ittihad will begin their final preparations for the resumption of the league. A crucial match awaits them as they travel to face Al-Hazm on Saturday, December 20th. This game represents a new starting point, and Al-Ittihad hopes to secure three points and begin their climb towards the top of the table and the top four, aiming to make up for lost points at the beginning of the season and bring joy to their large fan base.
