The first football team of Al-Hilal Saudi Club concluded its external training camp, which was held in the city of “Al Ain” in the United Arab Emirates, and lasted for 7 days, as part of the technical staff’s plan to take advantage of the current break to raise the fitness level and increase harmony among the team members.
At the conclusion of their training camp, Al-Hilal played a strong friendly match on Saturday evening against Bahrain's Al-Muharraq. The match ended with Al-Hilal winning 1-0, with the goal scored by the brilliant Serbian star, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who continues to deliver outstanding performances that underscore his high technical ability in the Blue team's midfield.
The team's return and Riyadh's preparations
The team's delegation arrived in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, immediately after the end of the training camp. The technical staff decided to give the players a day off from training on Sunday to catch their breath after the physical effort exerted during the past few days, with the team scheduled to resume group training on Monday evening at the club's headquarters.
These short training camps are part of the major clubs’ strategy to maintain the rhythm of matches and prepare substitute players, especially in light of the fierce competition that Al-Hilal is engaged in on all local and continental levels, as the team seeks to maintain its gains and continue its winning streak.
A highly anticipated match against NEOM
As part of their ongoing preparations, the team is scheduled to play another friendly match on Wednesday, December 17, at the club's headquarters against NEOM FC. This match is particularly significant, not only as a final rehearsal before the resumption of official competitions, but also because it brings Al-Hilal together with an ambitious sporting project, NEOM FC, which is attracting attention with its signings and rapid growth in the Yellow League, making the encounter a valuable opportunity for a strong test.
The importance of international breaks and physical preparation
Breaks are a golden opportunity for coaches to regroup and address tactical errors away from the pressure of consecutive official matches. Al-Hilal, as one of the most prominent clubs in Asia, focuses on utilizing these periods to ensure the readiness of all its players, including those returning from injury, to maintain its competitiveness in the Saudi Professional League and the AFC Champions League.
