Al-Firdous Association in Qatif launched a service for transporting the deceased between regions of the Kingdom via an electronic platform, to facilitate the transfer of bodies and alleviate the burden on the families of the deceased with high professionalism.

In a significant step aimed at enhancing social and humanitarian services in the Eastern Province, the Al-Firdaws Association for Honoring the Deceased in Qatif Governorate announced today the launch of its new strategic project: a "transportation of the deceased between regions" service. This vital project aims to streamline the complex logistical procedures for transporting bodies to and from the governorate, connecting it to a broad network encompassing various regions and cities across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including the capital, Riyadh, and Al-Ahsa Governorate.

This project comes as part of the digital transformation that the association is undergoing, where the service is provided through its approved electronic platform, which ensures a rapid response to emergencies and alleviates the psychological and physical distress of the bereaved during those difficult moments.

Project importance and humanitarian dimension

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association, Hafez Al-Faraj, confirmed that the launch of this project came in response to a pressing community need to provide safe, fast, and well-equipped transportation for funerals, in accordance with health and religious requirements. He pointed out that the service is now immediately available through the Association's online store, covering deaths occurring outside the deceased's place of residence, whether the transport is from Qatif to another location or vice versa, thus resolving a major problem that many families faced.

The importance of this project lies in its profound humanitarian and social dimension. The vast geographical expanse of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia necessitates specialized logistical services to ensure the dignified and respectful transport of remains. Often, the procedures and costs of transport place an additional burden on the bereaved family. Therefore, the "Al-Firdaws" initiative provides logistical and moral support, undertaking the coordination and transportation of bodies using specially equipped vehicles, thus embodying the message of social solidarity and compassion.

Keeping pace with the vision of the non-profit sector

This step falls within the broader context of the development of the non-profit sector in the Kingdom, overseen by the National Center for Non-Profit Sector Development . Specialized charitable organizations are striving to transition from traditional practices to sustainable, institutionalized work that provides professional solutions to societal problems. The specialization of these organizations in specific areas such as "honoring the deceased" demonstrates the maturity of their charitable work, where their role extends beyond mere financial support to include the high-quality management of essential services.

Through this project, the association seeks to expand its services to include an integrated system that includes the management and maintenance of mortuaries, the development and organization of cemeteries to ensure an environment befitting the sanctity of the dead, in addition to training human resources to work in this sensitive field.

Promoting awareness and sustainability

The “Al-Firdaws” strategy does not stop at the operational aspect; it also focuses heavily on raising awareness within the community about Islamic rulings related to funerals and promoting a culture of etiquette and order in cemeteries. This comprehensive approach aims to bring peace to the bereaved and preserve the dignity of the deceased.

In closing its announcement, the association called on all members of society and businessmen to support this project to ensure its sustainability and development, stressing that this initiative is part of a collective duty aimed at alleviating the financial and procedural burdens on grieving families from the moment of the announcement of death until the burial of the body.
