Al-Fateh hosts Al-Riyadh in the 15th round of the Roshan League. Al-Fateh aims to secure its fifth consecutive victory and break its historical losing streak, while Al-Riyadh fights to escape the bottom of the table.

On Tuesday, the eyes of Saudi football fans will be on Prince Abdullah bin Jalawi Sports City Stadium (First Finance Field) in Al-Ahsa, where Al-Fateh will host Al-Riyadh, in the fifteenth round of the Saudi Professional League, in a match that has a special character and complex calculations for both sides.

Al-Fateh's resurgence and ambition for the Golden Square

Al-Fateh enters this match with extremely high morale, bolstered by a remarkable run of positive results. The team, nicknamed "The Model," is aiming for its fifth consecutive league victory. They have successfully overcome the poor form that plagued them at the start of the season, achieving four straight wins that have lifted them from the relegation zone to a comfortable mid-table position.

Al-Fateh currently sits in tenth place with 17 points, accumulated from five wins, two draws, and six losses. The coaching staff and players are aiming to capitalize on home advantage and the support of their fans to continue this resurgence, with the goal of climbing further up the standings and challenging the leading teams, especially given the tight competition in the mid-table.

Riyadh and the struggle to escape the bottom

In contrast, Al-Riyadh is experiencing a difficult situation, currently sitting in 15th place with only 9 points, a position that places them just above the relegation zone. After a run of four consecutive defeats, the team narrowly managed to snatch a draw against Al-Fayha in the dying moments of the last round.

Al-Riyadh team hopes that this point will be a morale boost for the players to return to winning ways, as the team realizes that wasting more points could complicate its position in the struggle for survival early on, making tomorrow’s match like an early final for the capital team.

A historical knot that Al-Fath seeks to undo

Despite Al-Fateh's current technical advantages, historical statistics favor Al-Riyadh. Al-Fateh has never defeated their visitors in their four previous encounters in the Saudi Professional League, with Al-Riyadh winning once and three matches ending in a draw. Al-Riyadh's attack has scored seven goals in these matches, compared to Al-Fateh's six, presenting Al-Riyadh with an additional challenge to break this historical jinx.

The most prominent stars of both teams

Al-Fateh fans are counting on a squad of outstanding stars, led by Moroccans Mourad Batna and Marouane Saadane, in addition to Algerian Sofiane Bendebka, Comorian Zaidou Youcef, and Argentinian Matias Vargas. Meanwhile, Al-Riyadh will rely on the experience of Canadian goalkeeper Milan Borjan, French defender Yoann Barbet, Iraqi Ibrahim Bayesh, and Spaniard Poirier, in an attempt to snatch the points or at least secure a draw.
