Itmam Consulting Company (Itmam) announced that it has won a strategic competition to activate and empower volunteer work in non-profit organizations within the energy sector, in partnership with the Saudi Ministry of Energy. This project represents a significant step towards achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in strengthening the role of the non-profit sector and increasing its contribution to national development.
In an official statement published on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) website, Etmam explained that the project's financial value exceeds 5% of its total projected revenues for the 2024 fiscal year, reflecting the scale and importance of this strategic collaboration. The project primarily aims to build an integrated and sustainable system for volunteer work within the energy sector, which is the backbone of the Saudi economy.
General context and project objectives
This project comes within the framework of broader national efforts to promote a culture of volunteer work, which is one of the main pillars of the National Transformation Program and the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The Vision seeks to increase the number of volunteers in the Kingdom from a few thousand to one million volunteers by 2030. By focusing on the energy sector, the project aims to engage specialized skills and expertise in this vital field within community initiatives that serve the public interest and contribute to knowledge transfer and capacity building.
Under the contract, “Al-Ittmam Consulting” will work on developing an organizational and operational infrastructure to support volunteer work. This includes building effective volunteer units within relevant non-profit organizations, developing organizational frameworks, policies and procedures that ensure the efficient and effective management of volunteers, as well as designing training programs to qualify volunteers and enable them to perform their tasks to the fullest.
Importance and expected impact
At the local level, the project is expected to have a tangible positive impact by organizing and directing volunteer efforts toward energy sector priorities, such as raising awareness about energy conservation, supporting renewable energy initiatives, and contributing to environmental sustainability programs. It will also contribute to strengthening the corporate social responsibility of companies operating in the sector and creating opportunities for citizens to actively participate in development.
Regionally and internationally, this project offers a pioneering model that other countries, particularly energy producers, can learn from in integrating community and volunteer work into their core economic sectors. This approach reinforces the Kingdom's positive image as a nation that not only focuses on economic growth but also prioritizes social development and building a vibrant and engaged society.
