An international youth delegation visits the Holy Quran printing center
In an initiative reflecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's leading role in serving Islam and Muslims, the King Fahd Complex for Printing the Holy Quran in Madinah welcomed a delegation of 150 young people representing 35 Arab and Islamic countries. This visit is part of the "Journey to the Holy Sites" program, organized by the Ministry of Sports to introduce young people from around the world to the Kingdom's tremendous efforts in serving the Holy Quran and disseminating it in various languages to reach every Muslim.
A global Islamic institution: An overview of the history and mission of the complex
The King Fahd Complex for Printing the Holy Quran, whose foundation stone was laid by King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (may God have mercy on him) in 1403 AH (1982 CE) and which was inaugurated in 1405 AH (1984 CE), is one of the most prominent Islamic cultural landmarks that the Kingdom has presented to the world. The complex was established with the aim of printing the Holy Quran to the highest standards of accuracy and quality and distributing it to Muslims worldwide. Since its establishment, the complex has produced hundreds of millions of copies in various recitations and sizes, in addition to translating the meanings of the Holy Quran into more than 70 languages, thus becoming the largest printing press in the world for the Holy Quran and the most reliable source for copies of the Holy Quran globally.
A journey of knowledge through the realm of the Quran
The youth delegation began their tour of the complex by watching a documentary film that recounted the story of the establishment of this magnificent edifice and its noble mission, highlighting the unlimited support it receives from the wise leadership. Following this, the young people toured the various sections of the complex, where they were briefed on the meticulous stages of printing the Holy Quran. This included the preparation and drafting of the texts, the review and verification by specialized scholarly committees, and the luxurious printing and binding processes that ensure each copy is produced in the most beautiful form befitting the Book of God. The delegation also visited the translations department, where they learned about the efforts undertaken to translate the meanings of the Holy Quran, a fundamental pillar in conveying the tolerant message of Islam and correcting misconceptions among non-Arabic speakers.
