Al-Hilal management believes that letting go of a player of Cancelo’s caliber for free is not in line with its policy, both technically and economically, especially given the signing of a number of the world’s most prominent football stars, which necessitates preserving the value of assets within the team.
According to informed sources, Al-Hilal does not object to discussing offers made for the player, but it has set clear conditions, which are to obtain a suitable financial offer, or to enter into an exchange deal that ensures the player’s absence is compensated for by distinguished elements that maintain the team’s strength and balance.
On the other hand, Barcelona is seeking a compromise formula that would allow it to finalize the deal, by trying to convince the player to pressure Al-Hilal’s management to terminate the contract. However, this scenario faces significant complications, given the Saudi club’s insistence on all its contractual rights.
The deal remains pending, awaiting the outcome of negotiations in the coming period, amid a clear conflict between Barcelona's desire to acquire the player for free, and Al-Hilal's insistence on not giving up one of its main pillars except under conditions that guarantee the maximum possible benefit.
