His Royal Highness the Crown Prince holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from King Saud University, and ranked second in his class in the College of Law and Political Science.

He also received his general education in Riyadh schools, and was among the top ten in the Kingdom in high school. During his education, he received many courses and programs.

Professional practical experience

His Highness the Crown Prince held several positions during his professional career, which began with self-employment, and he has many charitable initiatives and activities through which he received many awards.

Before commencing his duties in the Kingdom’s public service, and after graduating from university, His Highness established a number of commercial companies before starting government work through his work as a full-time advisor in the Council of Ministers’ Experts Authority in the Kingdom, on 3/22/1428 AH corresponding to 4/10/2007 AD, and continued until 12/28/1430 AH corresponding to 12/16/2009 AD.

He moved from the Experts Authority at the eleventh rank to become a special advisor to the Prince of Riyadh Region on 28/12/1430 AH corresponding to 16/12/2009 AD. During that time, he continued to work as a part-time advisor in the Experts Authority until 20/4/1434 AH corresponding to 3/3/2013 AD.

He also served as Secretary-General of the Riyadh Center for Competitiveness and as a special advisor to His Highness the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the King Abdulaziz Foundation. He also served as a member of the Supreme Executive Committee for the Development of Diriyah.

Progression in positions

His Highness was appointed as a special advisor to His Highness Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz. Prince Mohammed bin Salman moved from the Emirate of Riyadh Region while at the thirteenth rank, and was appointed as an advisor and supervisor of the private office and special affairs of His Highness the Crown Prince, shortly after Prince Salman assumed the Crown Prince position, until a royal decree was issued appointing Prince Mohammed bin Salman as head of the Crown Prince’s Court and special advisor to him with the rank of minister on 4/20/1434 AH corresponding to 3/3/2013 AD.

A royal decree was issued appointing him General Supervisor of the Office of the Minister of Defense, in addition to his existing duties, on 5/9/1434 AH (13/7/2013 AD).
On 25/6/1435 AH (25/4/2014 AD), a royal decree was issued appointing him Minister of State and a member of the Council of Ministers, in addition to his existing duties. On 23/11/1435 AH (18/9/2014 AD), a decision was issued appointing him Chairman of the Executive Committee at the King Abdulaziz Foundation.

A royal decree was issued appointing him as Minister of Defense in addition to his work on 3/4/1436 AH, corresponding to 23/1/2015 AD.

A royal decree was issued appointing him as head of the Royal Court and special advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques with the rank of minister, in addition to his work, on 3/4/1436 AH, corresponding to 23/1/2015 AD.

Crown Prince, Prime Minister

On 10/7/1436 AH, corresponding to 29/4/2015 AD, a royal decree was issued appointing His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as Crown Prince, Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Chairman of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs.

A royal decree was issued on 26/9/1436 AH corresponding to 21/6/2017 AD, choosing His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as Crown Prince, and appointing him as Deputy Prime Minister while continuing as Minister of Defense, and continuing in the other tasks assigned to him.

A royal decree was issued on 1/3/1444 AH corresponding to 27/9/2022 AD, stipulating that His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince, shall be the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, as an exception to the provisions of Article (Fifty-Six) ​​of the Basic Law of Governance, and the related provisions contained in the Law of the Council of Ministers, and to reconstitute the Council of Ministers under the chairmanship of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince, as Chairman of the Council of Ministers.

charitable initiatives

His Royal Highness the Crown Prince has numerous charitable activities and social initiatives, as he was influenced by the work of his father, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in the non-profit field. His Royal Highness established a charitable foundation bearing his name, the Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Charitable Foundation “Misk Charitable Foundation”, which he chairs, and which aims to support the development of emerging projects, and encourage creativity in Saudi society by empowering and developing Saudi youth, and promoting their progress in the fields of work, culture, literature, and the social and technological sectors.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman also has other charitable contributions through the positions he currently holds:

- Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Prince Salman Youth Center, which was established on the initiative of Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, in order to enhance the Kingdom’s efforts in supporting young people and achieving their aspirations.

- Vice President of the Prince Salman Charitable Housing Association, and supervisor of the association’s executive committee, which was formed from a group of academics, sociology experts, and community leaders to cover the needs of low-income people.

- Chairman of the Board of Directors of Riyadh Schools (non-profit schools).

- Chairman of the Executive Committee at the King Abdulaziz Foundation.

His Highness also held other previous charitable positions, including:

- Member of the Board of Trustees of the Ibn Baz Charitable Foundation.

- The Mubarak Al-Kabeer Medal and the Order of Kuwait from the Emir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in recognition of His Highness’s efforts to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, and to enhance the ties of brotherhood and understanding between the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in December 2021.

The Order of Hussein bin Ali, the highest civilian decoration in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, awarded to kings, princes and heads of state, by the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, King Abdullah II, in recognition of the distinguished historical relations that bind the two countries, June 2022.

- An honorary doctorate from Kasetsart University in Thailand in the field of Earth knowledge for sustainable development, during the reception of His Highness the Crown Prince, at his residence in the Thai capital Bangkok, by the President of Kasetsart University, Dr. Krisanapong Kiratikkara, in November 2022.

- The Leader's Medal from the President of the Arab Parliament, Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al-Asoumi, in appreciation and recognition from the Arab people for His Highness's pioneering stances in defending Arab causes and promoting joint Arab action, August 2024.

Awards

He has received numerous awards and been honored in many forums, including the 2013 Leadership Personality of the Year Award for Supporting Entrepreneurs, awarded by Forbes Middle East magazine to Prince Mohammed bin Salman in his capacity as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Prince Salman Youth Center, in recognition of his efforts in supporting young entrepreneurs and highlighting the successes of Saudi youth to the world.

The most influential Arab leader

His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect him – won the title of “Most Influential Arab Leader in 2025” for the fifth year in a row, according to a poll conducted by RT Arabic, with His Highness receiving (372,312) votes out of (540,495), representing (68.88%) of the number of participants in the poll, which RT Arabic started on December 22, 2025 and continued until the end of January 9, 2026.
