The alert is displayed mandatoryly on mobile phone screens, in order to clearly distinguish it from the warning tone of the occurrence of danger.
The Civil Defense explained that the platform is used to issue immediate alerts in emergency situations, to warn citizens and residents when any potential danger is approaching, stressing the importance of remaining calm and following official instructions issued through approved channels.
Emergency safety guidelines
She urged people to immediately go to the nearest safe place inside buildings, preferably the interior rooms away from windows, and to stay there until an official notification is issued that the danger has passed, stressing that they should not leave the house or the location before the situation has completely ended.
She stressed the importance of staying away from open areas and glass, and not standing on balconies or rooftops, urging those in open areas to quickly enter the nearest building or take shelter behind a solid barrier, while avoiding gatherings or taking pictures and staying away from dangerous locations.

Report any risks
The Civil Defense indicated that if the warning message is received while inside the vehicle, one should immediately stop on the side of the road, stay away from bridges and tall buildings, and request assistance via emergency numbers.
She explained that the emergency number “911” is designated for the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province, while contact is made on the number “998” in the rest of the regions of the Kingdom, in order to report any risks or request support urgently.
