A British government spokesman explained that a ministerial meeting was held, during which it was “confirmed that the agreement allowing the United States to use British bases within the framework of joint self-defense in the region includes US defensive operations aimed at weakening the positions and capabilities of missiles used to attack ships in the Strait of Hormuz.”.
Shortly afterward, Donald Trump told reporters at the White House that the move was a “very belated response” from Britain, adding: “They should have moved much more quickly.”.
