The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia achieved a remarkable international accomplishment with nine healthcare clusters affiliated with the Health Holding Company winning twelve medals at the conclusion of the 51st Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions 2026, held from March 11th to 15th. The awards included three gold, five silver, and four bronze medals, reflecting the significant support provided by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince to scientific research and innovation, and demonstrating the Kingdom's growing prominence in global scientific forums. The awards varied to include three gold medals, five silver medals and four bronze medals, in a step that reflects the great support given by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Crown Prince to the scientific research and innovation sectors, and translates the Kingdom’s growing status in global scientific forums.

Saudi talents

The Saudi participation represented the largest and most significant presence of the health system at the international exhibition by presenting thirteen qualitative innovations, with the Hail Health Cluster winning the gold medal thanks to Dr. Ahmed Al-Mulaq’s innovation of an advanced smart system for infection protection and monitoring.

Meanwhile, Faisal Al-Ruqi from the Taif Health Cluster won another gold medal for his invention of a surgical instrument that combines electric cauterization and cutting without the need to change instruments, and Zahraa Qaisi from the First Jeddah Health Cluster won the third gold medal for designing an automated Saudi system for distributing medicines that ensures accurate doses and protects patients from any possible complications.

Harvest of various medals

As for the silver medals, Sand Al-Anzi from the Qassim Health Cluster excelled with his invention of a smart sensor for monitoring swimming pools, Muhammad Al-Asiri and Mutaib Al-Sahafi from the Baha Cluster with an invention that prevents blockage of intensive care tubes, Fahd Al-Anzi from the Northern Borders Cluster with the “Yaqaz” emergency system, Fatima Al-Zahra Banaz from the First Jeddah Health Cluster with a device to remove foreign objects from the nose and ear, and Suwailim Al-Qahtani from Health Holding with a proactive system for monitoring temperature.

Meanwhile, the bronze medals went to Dr. Shatha Al-Lafi from Najran, Ibrahim Al-Quwaizani from Riyadh, Nayef Al-Anzi from Qassim, and Ibrahim Al-Sumaili from Jazan for their outstanding medical innovations.

The future of healthcare
