The organization said in a statement on Tuesday: “While the American-Zionist enemy continues its aggression, a projectile hit the grounds of the Bushehr plant, without causing any material or technical damage, or human casualties.”.
Call for self-restraint
Following this, the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) announced that Iran had informed it of a projectile landing on the grounds of the Bushehr nuclear power plant, reiterating its call for restraint.
The agency wrote on its X platform: "IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi reiterates his call for maximum restraint to avoid nuclear risks during conflicts."
The agency announced last Wednesday that the Bushehr nuclear power plant in southern Iran was hit by a projectile the previous evening, but that it caused no damage to infrastructure and no injuries.
Russia condemns the strike
Russia, which has experts working at the facility, condemned the strike as irresponsible.
The Bushehr plant, Iran's only operating nuclear power plant, has a generating capacity of 1,000 megawatts, covering a small fraction of the country's electricity needs.
